1. Workplace Health Strategy Terminated
Professor Peter McKie officially terminated the Workplace Health Strategy with effect from 12th May 2010. As a consequence of the Working for Health Strategy’s work since 2001, awareness of Workplace Health issues has been elevated within both the public and private sectors. It has been decided that the actions currently proposed within the workload of the four Programme Teams, namely Government Leading by Example, Occupational Health Support and Rehabilitation, Priority Workplace Health Programmes and Creating Healthy Workplaces are and will be taken forward through a variety of alternative channels. These include the Dame Carol Black Review interdepartmental subgroup which is discussing a wide range of issues pertinent to the strategy’s Occupational Health Support and Rehabilitation Team. The NICS People Strategy for 2010-2013 and its Improved Employee Health, Wellbeing and Engagement subgroup encompasses the workload of the Government Leading by Example Team.
