Southern Area Walking for Health (SAWH) programme aims to encourage people, particularly those who are inactive or partake in little physical activity, to start walking more and gain the confidence to continue being active on a regular basis, either in a group or on their own.
The SAWH has helped to create over 60 local health walk schemes and has trained more than 400 volunteer walk leaders.
Volunteer Walk Leaders run regular local walking for health groups across the Southern Area; which are led, safe and enjoyable walks for people of all ages and abilities.
