A Protect Life Training plan has been developed to reflect the broad range of need across all sectors for training in mental health promotion, suicide awareness and intervention skills. Training is available for families, communities, schools, youth services, and frontline health and social care staff.
Protect life training is provided at three levels:
Level 1: Awareness-raising and de-stigmatising; Level 2: Building protective factors; Level 3: Enhancing intervention skills.
Courses currently available or in development include Be Positive, Bounce (building resilience in young people), Bounce T4T, Stress Management, ASIST (Applied suicide intervention skills training), Mental Health First Aid, and Insight – Young People and Suicide Awareness. It is anticipated that further courses will be developed or sourced according to the needs of target groups.
