Who can use the library? The Promoting Wellbeing Teams Resource Library is available to everyone involved in promoting health. This includes those engaged in the fields of health, education, social services, youth services and community development. We also welcome students from GCSE to Postgraduate level for research and information purposes.
While individual students are welcome, the Team regrets that it cannot accommodate large school groups due to the restrictions placed on us by our present location. Teachers are however encouraged to browse the online library catalogue and borrow resources on behalf of their students.
What services does the library provide? The Promoting Wellbeing Team's Resource Library provides the following services:

Borrowing service Visitors may borrow a maximum of 4 items over a period of no more than 3 weeks.

Health promotion specialist advice service Promoting Wellbeing Speciaists are available by appointment to provide users with assistance and advice.

Photocopying service A photocopying service is available, subject to copyright law. Each A4 sheet is charged at 10p.

Requesting service Items can be requested by contacting the department by phone or e-mail or by calling in. Items on request must be collected within two working days. If items are not collected within this time they will be returned to the system for general borrowing.
What type of resources can I borrow from the library?
The library contains many different types of resources including books, journals, reports, strategies, press releases, videos, CD ROMs, leaflets, booklets etc.

Can a loan be extended? A loan period can be extended provided that a resource has not been requested by another user.
How can I do this? By contacting the department either by phone or e-mail .
Reminders Users who do not return resources are issued with a reminder one week after the loan period has expired. A second reminder is sent approximately three weeks after the loan’s expiry date. If the resource(s) is still not returned, a third and final letter is sent, whereby the user is asked to reimburse the library for the full cost of the resource(s).
Damaged/ lost items Users who damage items will be asked to reimburse the library for the cost of the item. Users who do not return or reimburse the library for lost or damaged resources will be unable to borrow further resources from the library.
