The Southern Drugs and Alcohol Co-Ordination Team (SDACT) is a local interagency partnership with lead responsibility for the localimplementation of the New Strategic Direction (NSD) for Alcohol and Drugs (2006-2011) within the Public Health Agency Southern Area. For full NSD document click here
PHA/SDACT Local Action Plan 2009-11 is available for viewing in the Resources Section. The main aim of the NSD for Alcohol & Drugs is to reduce the level of alcohol and drug-related harm in Northern Ireland. In order to achieve the overarching long-term aims of the NSD, a series of regional and local outcomes have been developed. This SDACT Local Action Plan (LAP) is based on a series of inter-connected outcomes and outputs, related to the NSD Alcohol & Drugs key priorities. This Action Plan builds upon previous SDACT activities and initiatives. The Southern Area Local Action Plan consists of targeted outcomes that have been identified by the Co-ordination Team, a number of which were tendered for, the remaining were directly commissioned to the Southern Health and Social care Trust Addictions Service. The DHSSPSNI Health Development Policy Branch, has provided funding in the Southern Area across the period 2009-2011 to facilitate the delivery of this plan to address the NSD overall aim of reducing the level of alcohol and drug related harm in Northern Ireland (details of PHA/SDACT funded programmes are available in brochure form in Resources Section).
