The Promoting Wellbeing Team of Southern Health and Social Care Trust is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of its communities and to reducing health inequalities and disadvantage where this exists. Across the Trust, the promoting wellbeing team works in partnership with a broad range of organisations, communities and individuals to address the wider determinants of health and to provide a focus on key areas such as those detailed in these pages. The nature of this work means that new services, initiatives and opportunities for engagement develop on a regular basis - therefore you should check in often to ensure that you're up to date with what's going on across the Trust or in your area.

Mellow Parenting is a fourteen week programme designed to support families who are experiencing relationship problems with their young children and have additional health and social care needs. Children should be aged between one and four years.
Mellow Parenting is based on principles from attachment theory, adult education and behavioural psychology. It combines support for parents with direct video feedback on the parents own interactions with their children, a tool which has been shown to be extremely effective in helping parents to make change.
Mellow Parenting programmes are being delivered by trained health and social care professionals across the Southern Area. If you would like to make a referral for a family you are working with, please click here to complete and return the referral form.
